On July 15th, GJFA members joined the inauguration ceremony for Ambassador Okyere.
The event began with a speech by the new Ambassador, followed by questions posed by Ghanaians living in Japan.
Many of the Ghanaians have been living for a substantial time here in Japan, and some expressed their concerns with certain issues concerning exporting of goods to Ghana.
The Ambassador fielded everyone’s questions, patiently going into detail and closed with a comment on how important the people of Ghana living in Japan were to Ghana Japan relations.
The event ended with a wonderful dinner where we were able to again meet the Ambassador as well as connect with various other members of the Ghanaian community.
The event only further imprinted on us the need for solid communications between countries, bringing to mind the need for a strong relationship with the Ghana Tourism Ministry.
